Contours of Silence

Contours of Silence advances my exploration of illumination and form through radical reduction. In this series, the automobile is approached not as object or landscape, but as a suspended condition—form held in stillness, stripped of environment, narrative, and scale.

Working at the edge of visibility, these images isolate horizon, curvature, and balance. Light is not used to describe surface, but to trace presence. As illumination moves, structure appears momentarily, then recedes, revealed through tension and continuity rather than detail.

Using Painting With Light, I guide illumination in deliberate, minimal strokes. Each movement is measured against absence, allowing form to become the quiet threshold through which light speaks.

In 2025, Contours of Silence was recognized with Photographer of the Year by the international reFocus Awards.

Across this work, I am not documenting objects—

I am photographing light as it finds its voice through form.
